There's always something really appealing in a period drama. I don't know where to begin.
Perhaps it's the memories of weekend nights, sitting in front of the TV with my dad and brother on bean bags and having supper. Perhaps it's the distinct feel of the plot and environment in a different time frame. Perhaps it's the balance of how females are portrayed as both vulnerable and brave. Perhaps it's the way they move and speak, or maybe the life lessons incorporated somewhere somehow. Perhaps it's the aspect that they are able to move from one place to another without any form of restrictions- of a house, of a passport, of time, or of having to return at any point of time.
I don't know. Period/ wuxia dramas just have a special place in my heart. *shrug*
